FAQ's:

Does the BACF offer financial assistance for home heating, utility, home repairs?  

No.  Eightcap and United Way would be the best source for this need. (see below)

Does the BACF offer funding towards community oriented events and/or structures that serve the purpose of bettering our Belding area community?

Yes.  We do have several projects that we are working on, including a community splash pad fund, wireless downtown speakers fund and potentially a portable bandshell fund.  

Does the BACF offer any emergency service funding?  

Yes.  We do have a fire fund available to anyone in the Belding area that has suffered a loss of their homestead, so long as resident meets all criteria set forth.  

Is the BACF affiliated with the B Foundation?

No.  

Does the BACF offer a scholarship for graduating seniors?

Yes2025 BHS graduates can apply online at beldingareacommunityfund.org/scholarship

EIGHTCAP ASSISTANCE

  • Water/Sewer Bills for individuals who are below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level or are receiving Food Benefits, Cash Assistance, have received an SER from DHHS, or SSI.  We can help pay water bills that are in shut off mode or assist with regular payments if individuals are facing hardships. 

  • Utility Assistance/Deliverable Fuels/Security Deposit:  We have some (not much) discretionary funding to assist.  Individuals MUST apply to DHHS for the SER (State Emergency Relief) and provide a decision notice.  These funds are available until gone.

  • Weatherization:  Provides homeowners and renters with energy efficiency upgrades to their homes.  Many are eligible for new furnaces and water heaters, refrigerators, wall and attic insulation, air sealing, carbon monoxide detectors. 

  • Homeless resources:  Have homeless individuals complete the screening at www.gimishelter.org   This routes individual through the coordinated entry system and will help provide resources for help.
